Saturday Pennant – Semi Finals – 29th February 2020

What a way to finish the season all 4 teams won and teams consolidated their positions in each division to set a great chance of progressing through the finals.

Division 1 had a great win against Inglewood on their home track and earned their 5th  position.

Division 3 had a great win against 3rd positioned Bendigo and leap frogged them into 3rd. They have another shot at them this weekend in the Semi Finals being played at Kangaroo Flat on the small green.

Division 5 won against Harcourt and ensured themselves the double chance sitting in 1st position. Well done they have Campbells Creek this week in their Semi final game at Eaglehawk on the Kelly green.

Division 7 came out guns blazing and won against Woodbury consolidating 3rd position. This week they have White Hills at Kangaroo Flat on the Front Green.

Best of luck to all Divisions for Saturday. This challenge brings out our best.

Selection is always a hard proposition at most times during the season and in the eyes of some players we don’t always get it right. It’s even harder at the end of the season when trying to select the strongest teams and players will miss out due to one reason or another don’t be disheartened as things change and there is always a chance to play, no one is guaranteed a game.

NOTE: To Side Managers & Seconds:  please ensure to collect $5.00 green fees from all members playing to be handed to the Host Club. Bags have been provided to each of you. Thankyou

A Special thankyou to all the members who helped the weekend teams to get to the finals when players have dropped out at the last moment.

Saturday Pennant – Round 14 – 22nd February 2020

Last week Division 1 struggled with Castlemaine and just missed out.  Both Division 3 and 5 had wins to consolidate their positions in the four in preparation for possible finals.

Division 1 has Inglewood away and want to look to staying in 5th  position.

Division 3 is now in 4th position with last weeks win but not assured of finals. They play Bendigo at home a win here will move them into 3rd and best placed for finals against Bendigo the following week.

Division 5 has slipped into 1st position with the win last week but to hold onto the double chance must win against Harcourt this week at home.

Division 7 rested last week should come out swinging and a win away against Woodbury on  will consolidate their position or move them up a rung on the ladder.

All divisions are very close so we need to stay on our mettle and work for each other on game day.

There have only been minor changes in teams due to the return of players and the success of the teams last week however rest assured everyone will be looked at for finals to put the strongest teams in.

Enjoy your bowls and Good Hunting !

Saturday Pennant – Round 12 – 8th February 2020

Division 5 and Div 7 got up last week a good effort. Division 1 and 3 challenged but just not quite there on the day.  Best of luck to all divisions this week and good bowling all.

There have been some minor changes in teams due to return of players. Our Division 3, 5 and 7 teams are in with a good show of playing finals with division 5 and 7 in 2nd and 3rd place respectively and Div 3 pushing to get into the 4 whilst currently sitting 5th.

Some minor changes have been made to ensure players who have filled in during the year are qualified to help the teams (in the hunt for finals) to and through the finals. The changes are not a slight on your ability but having a refreshed perspective after one week rest is always a good thing.

It will be around 32 degrees tomorrow always ensure you maintain hydration with plenty of fluids.

Enjoy your bowls and Good Hunting !
